Course Description:
This course is a general introduction to astronomy covering: the history of astronomy; the solar system; the evolution of stars; galaxies; and, cosmology. The course will include a descriptive analysis of the physical laws that are relevant to the dynamics of the universe. The study will address astronomical beliefs that have influenced human thinking, philosophy, and morals. Field trips may be required. Transfer credit: CSU;UC.
