Course Description:
This course will offer a general overview of the criminal justice system in the U.S. The history and philosophy of criminal justice will be examined. Systemic problems, such as the organization and jurisdiction of local, state and federal criminal justice components, will be discussed and possible solutions developed. Historical and current theories of crime causation and punishment in America will be explained and discussed. Field trips may be required. Recommended Prep: ENGL V01A. Transfer credit: CSU;UC.
