Course Description:
The CompTIA Network+ certification is an internationally recognized validation of the technical knowledge required of foundation-level IT network practitioners. A student who successfully completes this course should have the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to design, install, manage, and troubleshoot a network infrastructure for both wired and wireless networks. This course will also cover network security basics. Students who successfully complete this course should be prepared for the CompTIA Network+ certification.   • Additional Notes NOTE: This is an asynchronous online course but there is an optional Zoom course orientation meeting to go over all the course resources and help you get off to a good start in the class. The Zoom course orientation meeting is on Wednesday, January 15th, from 7:30 PM to 9:20 PM. The Canvas course portal will go live on Jan. 6th and you will be able to view the Zoom meeting details and the syllabus. Check your student email for announcements before the start of the semester. This course uses the CertMaster Learn for Network+ (N10-009) courseware. The academically discounted price is $109 for a 1-year license. The instructor will review how to purchase the courseware using the academic discount and link it to your Canvas portal during the course orientation. If you would like to purchase the courseware before the course orientation, please be sure to use the specific instructions that are provided in the Canvas course portal. The instructor has in-person and online office hours during the semester where you can get additional support when needed.
