Course Description:
Provides a broad overview of those societies and individuals that have provided key contributions to the development of Monsoon Asia. Covers the period from the arrival of the West to the present (c. 1600 - 2000 CE), including selected topics from the Late Traditional Period, the Era of Imperialism, and the Modern Period. Emphasizes China, India and Japan, but all areas of Monsoon Asia are introduced. Transfer credit: CSU; UC. Formerly: HIST M16. (Formerly HIST M16.) Applies to Associate degree.
