Course Description:
This course explores the history of the United States from the earliest settlements through the Colonial Era and Independence, to the U.S. invasion of Mexico. Emphasis will be placed on the participation and contributions made by the Chicana/o/x community to the development of American society. Focus will be placed on major historical forces, events, and trends in American History that have impacted and shaped the cultural, social, economic, political, and intellectual heritage of the Chicana/o/x community in the United States. Field trips may be required. Transfer credit: CSU; UC. Credit Limitations: See counselor.
