Course Description:
This course is specifically designed for Educational Assistance (EAC) students who have a diagnosis that hinders their ability to grasp and apply mathematical concepts. The course will cover basic math operations including whole numbers, order of operations, fractions, decimals, and word problems. This course will also include test taking, mnemonic and memory strategies for learning and recalling mathematical operations. Various learning strategies will be utilized to help students to break down the barriers to learning mathematics that have slowed their progress. Recommended Prep: ACT R016. Notes: To enroll in this course, students must have approval from their EAC counselor; Please contact the EAC to start this process. Limitations on Enrollment: Enrollment in this course is limited to students with documented disabilities as described in Section 56028 of Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations, who are otherwise not able to benefit from general college classes even with appropriate academic adjustments, auxiliary aids, and services.
