Course Description:
Establishes a foundation for understanding future developments in drug therapy and for administering drugs efficiently and safely. Identifies pharmacology priniciples, basic pharmacological terminology and concepts, drug categories and their uses, drug mechanisms of action, as well as drug dosages, drug forms, routes of administration, and common generic and trade name medications. Applies drug information and mathematical calculations performed in clinical settings. Recommended Prep: ANAT M01 and PHSO M01, or ANPH M01. Transfer credit: CSU. Notes: Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, provider number CEP 02811 for 45 contact hours. Applies to Associate degree. Transfer credit: CSU. Same course as HS M15.
