Course Description:
This course is a survey of the history of photography from 1839 to present. Emphasis will be placed on the 20th and 21st centuries in order to explore the historical, technological, and cultural contexts of photography. We will trace how photography profoundly influenced culture and a sense of ourselves. Recommended Prep: ENGL V01A or concurrent enrollment. Field trips may be required. Transfer credit: CSU; UC.
